Our Story & Vision
Founded in 2023 by Dr. Varun Shankar and Dr. Harini Vasudev, Utopia Dental is a modern dental clinic in Mysore built on a foundation of ethical care, clinical excellence, and patient-first values. Both founders are alumni of JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysore, with Dr. Varun specializing in Orthodontics and advanced aligner therapy, and Dr. Harini bringing strong expertise as a General Dentist with a background in public health through ICMR and WHO projects. Their complementary experience and shared commitment to quality dentistry led to the creation of Utopia Dental as a space where advanced treatment, warmth, and transparency come together.

Dr. Varun Shankar

Dr. Varun Shankar is an accomplished Orthodontist and Co-owner of Utopia Dental, Mysore, with both his undergraduate and postgraduate training from the prestigious JSS Dental College, Mysore. He also served as a lecturer at the same institution, contributing to academic teaching and advanced clinical training alongside active practice.
As a consultant across multiple reputed dental clinics in and around Mysore, Dr. Varun has extensive experience in treating a wide range of orthodontic cases, with expertise in aligner therapy, self-ligating bracket systems, and conventional braces. Known for his warm approach, clinical precision, and patient-focused care, he is widely trusted for delivering efficient, customised orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages.
Dr Harini Vasudev

Dr. Harini Vasudev is a skilled General Dentist and Co-owner of Utopia Dental, Mysore, and a proud alumna of the prestigious JSS Dental College, Mysore. Along with her strong clinical foundation, she brings added academic expertise in Public Health, giving her a well-rounded and research-informed approach to dentistry.
Actively involved in several reputed ICMR and WHO projects, Dr. Harini has developed a deep understanding of community health and preventive care. Beyond dentistry, she is also the founder of her creative baking venture, The Cluny Cakery, reflecting her passion for culinary artistry. Known for her versatility, compassion, and dedication, she is committed to providing quality dental care while contributing meaningfully to public health.
